Its a brand new tech based off decades old software. It sort of goes back to the idea of having a mainframe.



Computers will be simple little machines, they will have no hard drives or anything of the sort, just the processor, and input devices. When you turn it on, you will log into the cloud. This is a big computer somewhere in the country. This is where the OS and all your files are stored. This method makes computers much cheaper, and you can go to any computer in the world and get your files. It follows you wherever you go and all computers will be the same. Businesses can purchase necessary software through the cloud, and would only be billed for what they use. Basically, yes. Anytime you need something, instead of running the program off of your computer, you run it off of a computer somewhere out on the Net. Anything you do will be saved multiple times across multiple computers so that even if one goes down, you can still get your stuff and not even notice that anything's wrong.
