What was this thing I saw?

I saw something about a year ago. Ive never tryed to ask but its been killing me to do it. About a year ago Me and my friend were sitting on his porch just talking, We then saw an airplane with orange lights on it Just an oval circle light covering the plane, I mean you couldnt even see it. Then It went into a cloud.. A HUGE burst of orange light covered the cloud and then when the cloud passed the plane wasnt there.

Me and my friend thought it was a UFO, Im not a big fan of them But We really think it was one.

Anybody know what it was?What was this thing I saw?

saw similar in u.k. many years ago am satisfied that f its not military or fireworks related then its a freak weather related occurance-I may be wrong of course ....best wishes
