Meteorologic websites do offer information about the mean cloud cover of any of the cities in the world, that's local. I need the figure of the total cloud cover of the earth at any moment, and that's global. Can you figure it out for me?
Please enclose with references. What is the global cloud cover at any moment?
There is no single source for true real-time cloud cover data, simply because the data are collected by multiple satellites, operated by multiple agencies. Several sites (first link) do offer near-real-time (roughly three hours' delay) composite images. One site (second link) features near-real-time data as well as instructions and programs for converting that data into percentage cloud cover.
