If a bolt carrying 1 C falls from a cloud to Earth, what is the change of potential energy of the charge?

The potential difference between a storm

cloud and the ground is 1.53 脳 108 V.

I've been stuck on this problem for ages, could anyone explain to me how to do this? thank you!If a bolt carrying 1 C falls from a cloud to Earth, what is the change of potential energy of the charge?
see potential difference=potential energy per coulomb of charge

now here potential difference is given as 1.53 x108 V

therefore potential energy=potential difference per coulomb of charge

therefore potential energy=1.53*108*1=1.53*108 joules

hope you got itIf a bolt carrying 1 C falls from a cloud to Earth, what is the change of potential energy of the charge?
E = q*v

E = 1 c * 1.53 * 10^8 V

E = 1.53*10^8 J
