What does it mean when you see a rainbow on a cloud and there was no rain?

today me and my 3 friends saw a weird looking cloud , it kinda was foggy looking and i had a rainbow on it. just the cloud did. there was not any rain. not even like the day before. we saw it and started taking pictures of it, and then we looked away for 2 minutes and then it was gone! we were the only ones to see it. is this a sign?

pleasepleaseplease answer! What does it mean when you see a rainbow on a cloud and there was no rain?
Sounds like you have witness a case of what we call a Sundog. Here are some pictures I have found on the web and also some links for you if you want some information as to the cause of these "rainbows only in a cloud" First, some links with nice pictures of sundogs found on the web

Well, what do you think that a rainbow is composed of? -the sun shinning through water droplets.

and what is a cloud composed of? -water droplets

So maybe when you saw the rainbow on that one single cloud, it was because the sun was shinning through it.

watch the double rainbow video :)What does it mean when you see a rainbow on a cloud and there was no rain?
It does not have to rain to see a rainbow. A rainbow can be seen if the sun angle is low enough, and water is falling in the vicinity of where it is seen.
