Is this what cloud is in a nutshell? - online managements +/- emulation?

I hear a lot of people saying cloud thesedays.

Cloud is just moving most things online, where there might be one or multiple servers linked up and do most of the things for you, then send them back to your devices for display or simple interactions. Some of these online servers also emulate environments for you.

T'hat's cloud in a nutshell right? Is this what cloud is in a nutshell? - online managements +/- emulation?
It doesn't necessarily have to be on-line. A cloud just means that data is kept on a set of non-local storage devices and that you don't really know which particular storage device it's on. Similar to how you don't know which physical wires your network connection goes through once it gets past the local loop.

Other things, such as management and emulation can be added services, but they aren't part of the definition of cloud.
